Alston Gayler is an independent Lloyd’s broker.  It specialises in the traditional marine and energy insurance markets as well as offering considerable expertise in all classes of the reinsurance market.  The company was established in 1990 with the support of Vitol Group, a global enterprise trading in oil and related products.  Alston Gayler became an accredited Lloyd’s broker in 1993 and is now authorised and regulated in the UK by the Financial Services Authority.

Alston Gayler has traditionally maintained a low profile, preferring to develop its business through its extensive market connections and its reputation for service, integrity, transparency and the quality of its customer base.

Alston Gayler acts for a broad range of clients ranging from large multi nationals to smaller commercial operators. Its customer-base includes a number of major energy traders and large world-wide fleet owners and charterers.  More recently, the company has extended its activities in the reinsurance field. 

Business is predominantly placed in the London and Bermuda markets.  In London, risks are placed with the larger Lloyd’s syndicates and major companies. Overseas placings are effected only with those major international insurers which can offer first class security.

In addition to traditional marine, energy and reinsurance broking services, the company has considerable expertise in the establishment of captive insurance companies, widely recognised as a highly effective tool for the management of risk in larger business operations.

The business operates from a single location in Leadenhall Street, London, EC3 in the immediate vicinity of the Lloyd’s and international company markets.
